Flex Developer with Wowza Media Server/Flash Media Server Experience (Lower Mainland)
City: Vancouver
At this point we have at least one opening for a Flash/Flex developer with Wowza Media Server skills or interest. If you have worked with Flash Media Server then that's a good start too.
We're looking for a developer who either has skills or is looking to get skills in the Flash/Flex environment with Actionscript 3, and Java for Wowza Media Server. We have a growing demand for at least one developer in this area who can wear both hats and is able to work without somebody watching over you. The opportunity to learn is available as we are open to training/teaching a good candidate(s) for this job. We are a small and established local company looking to grow with the huge demands of our clients both current and incoming for the foreseeable future.
Requirements/Wants are:
1. To have some experience with programming in either Java and/or Actionscript 3 (they are very similar, porting over to one or the other shouldn't be an issue if you are familiar with one). This is one of the more important points as the majority of your work will be done in Flex Builder/Eclipse to build the online apps that we build. Most of our work ends up in the browser but some may be ported to mobile apps, it all depends on project specs.
2. Be willing to learn and be malleable to absorb new ideas and concepts. This job requires thinking and reaching outside of just the obvious realms of programming sometimes, you will need to be able to think of ways to do things and communicate that back and forth to share ideas and do research. Bonus points if you are the type that likes to come up with and implement new ideas and concepts.
3. It's handy if you have HTML/CSS/Javascript experience, but not a requirement due to the fact that it's so simple to pick up anyways.
4. Design skills are good but not an essential requirement. We have designers who can take over from a developer's prototype or you will take over from the designer's prototype.
Please send as much info as you can, including phone number as that is most likely how we'll get a hold of you. We're interested in learning about your expected hourly rates and how many hours you can work per week. Feel free to also ask any questions you have regarding the work or expectations from our side.
At the moment this job does not require to be on site but some training/teaching will be done in person to speed things up. In other words, for the most part you can work from wherever you are comfortable unless the projects on hand require otherwise. In the case that the projects we are working on require the team to be in one place then you will be required to come in to the office to work (which actually could be very likely). That will be on a project to project basis and depend on how well you work individually over the internet and at times when required, in person as a team.
At this time we are not looking for any applicants outside of the lower mainland here in B.C. Canada.
